Jones Day hired Elizabeth H. Evans as a banking and finance partner in its New York office. Evans was previously at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where she was formerly a corporate partner.

Her practice focuses on advising banking and finance clients on a wide range of corporate transactions, such as aviation finance, project finance, satellite finance, equipment leasing and related deal work. She also has advised clients on private placements of debt and equity, structured finance arrangements, asset-based financings and leveraged leasing.

She  has represented a number of financial institutions, credit capital corporations, equity investors, export credit agencies as well as leasing companies in complex aircraft purchases, satellite financings, equipment leases and asset-based financings.

She has represented various domestic and foreign passenger and cargo airlines in a wide range of areas, including aircraft sales and leasing matters, FAA and DOT compliance, equipment financings, bankruptcy matters and privatizations.

“We are excited to welcome Elizabeth as a partner in New York,” said Mark Sisitsky, head of the banking and finance practice. “Elizabeth brings a depth of experience in corporate finance to our clients and will be of great value to the expansion of our global aviation practice.”

“Elizabeth is a great addition to the firm. She will enhance our already thriving  banking and finance practice during what is a dynamic and fast-paced time for the industry,” said Willis Goldsmith, partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s New York office.
