Gordon Brothers, a Boston-headquartered company that offers lending, financing and trading services to commercial clients, has hired Michael Sheridan as a managing director of its direct originations.
Island CEF, a subsidiary of Gordon Brothers Holdings completed its first securitization in August, selling $265.5 million in bonds secured by equipment finance leases and loans payments.
Chosen to expand the firm's direct originations platform, according to the company announcement, Sheridan will partner with middle-market companies and private equity sponsors to structure finance solutions that support growth across mid-ticket, and large-ticket transactions.
Sheridan will work across Gordon Brothers' integrated platform and strengthen the company's commercial equipment finance team, the company said.
"As we continue to grow our direct origination capabilities, Mike's expertise will help us strengthen relationships with capital providers and middle-market businesses while delivering innovative financing solutions that meet our clients' evolving needs," according to a statement from Gordon Brothers Head of Commercial Equipment Finance Bobby Campbell.
Prior to Gordon Brothers, Sheridan's career in equipment finance includes leadership positions as senior vice president of equipment finance originations at 36th Street Capital Partners and a position on the board at Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, according to LinkedIn.com.
