Bonwick Capital Nabs Securitization Team

Bonwick Capital Partners has added two managing directors, Ray Gatten and Phillip Toth.

Both hires were former National Alliance Securities managing directors. They will help bolster the firm's fixed income securitization, trading and private placement business, according to a company press release.

While at National Alliance, Gatten with the help of Waterford Capital, was credited with developing the first  securitization of peer-to-peer consumer loans, Eaglewood Consumer Loan Transaction. The transaction is backed by prime unsecured consumer loans purchased from the Lending Club Corporation by Eaglewood’s flagship fund.

Prior to National Alliance, Gatten held several senior positions including head of the structured product trading at Cantor Fitzgerald, senior vice president structured finance with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and private ABS securitizations & sales with RBC Dain Rauscher.

Toth was also co-founder of the Quant Group a boutique M&A advisory firm in Southeast Asia. He held senior sales positions with JVB Financial, Sterne Agee and Janney Montgomery.
