BlackRock Looking for a Securitization Specialist

BlackRock Solutions is looking for a U.K.-based senior portfolio manager who would oversee its sterling and euro businesses.

The new hire should also have significant experience across all securitized debt, including RMBS, ABS and CMBS products.

Maarten Slendebroek, head of BlackRock Solutions in EMEA, said that the firm was looking to hire a senior portfolio manager with a background in sterling and euro securitized products for its financial markets advisory business in London.

BlackRock Solutions manages and monitors large, complex portfolios and has performed valuation and risk assessment assignments on over $3 trillion of assets including assignments in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Slendebroek said that, over the last 18 months BlackRock, has been appointed to manage $180 billion of difficult or illiquid asset portfolios, with primary verticals being  RMBS,  CMBS, CDOs, CLOs, whole loans and credit derivatives.

The new U.K.-based portfolio manager would help manage the disposition of portfolios and a significant portion of these portfolios would be securitized products. Slendebroek said that BlackRock is looking to build a London-based team.

The unit's primary activities are concentrated in three areas: strategic advisory engagements primarily focused on capital markets matters, valuation and risk assessment of securities, loan and derivative portfolios, and asset management and disposition.
