State Street hires new vice president

Gerald Levine has joined State Street Capital Corp. as a vice president in its structured finance group. Levine will be reporting to Nelson Russell, managing director, as part of the domestic securitization team.

Levine's responsibilities will include both marketing and deal execution across numerous asset classes. He will be working mainly on non-auto related ABS of all different asset types, including trade receivables deals and student asset deals. Levine is returning to a banking position after a period of independent consulting that related to both securitization and venture capital work. Before that, Levine worked at Commerzbank for a year and a half.

Previous to this, he worked for five years at Standard & Poor's, analyzing a variety of transactions including term commercial and consumer ABS, private placements, ABCP and new assets.

State Street, which has maintained CP conduits since 1992, currently has three conduits in place. An important part of its business is structuring and funding various asset classes through these vehicles, so Levine's structuring-oriented background, mixed with his marketing skills, should complement the team perfectly, a source from the company said.
