Dennis Ferro has landed the new position of chief investment officer at Capital Management Group, an investment arm of First Union. Ferro was formerly managing director at Scudder Investments Ltd.'s European institutional investment management arm.

Standard & Poor's has appointed Joanne Rose as executive managing director in the firm's structured finance ratings unit. She succeeds Vickie Tillman, who was recently promoted to executive vice president and chief ratings officer. Rose was previously general counsel at S&P. Her old position will be filled by Petrina Dawson.

Moody's Investors Service has hired Sedare Coradin as vice president and senior analyst in the rating agency's structured finance area. She was previously a 17-year veteran at Societe Generale, most recently as vice president and senior relationship director.

Moody's has also assigned Arthur Heffner as a senior associate in structured finance, where he will be working on student loan deals, reporting to Ed Bankole, Christina Cotton and Andy Silver. He was previously in the firm's public finance area.
