HSBC Global Asset Management Grows Global Multi-manager Team

HSBC Global Asset Management appointed five new investment professionals to its global multimanager team.

Braam Hanekom has taken on the role as senior portfolio manager and analyst to work on global emerging market strategies and funds. He was previously at Russell Investments, primarily as a global emerging market analyst. Before that, he was at Schroders and Credo Capital.

Caroline Lambert has joined as a due diligence analyst. Lambert has extensive experience as a hedge fund analyst and has worked in several investment firms, most recently Baltic Asset Management.

Haijian Fan joined the portfolio analytics team of the multimanager business. Previously Fan was a fund analyst with Barclays Wealth.

Hanekom, Lambert and Fan are all based in London and report to Guy Morrell, head of multimanager at HSBC Global Asset Management (U.K,).

In Toronto, Jeremy Peng has joined as a research analyst. He will focus on Canadian and International equity asset classes, as well as supporting multi-manager multi-asset portfolios. Prior to joining HSBC, Peng was an institutional analyst at Fidelity Investments in Canada. Peng reports to HSBC Global Asset Management, head of multimanager (Toronto), Lane Prenevost.

In Hong Kong, Manfred Lam has joined multimanager Asia as a senior analyst. Manfred has over 17 years of consulting and manager research experience. He previously worked for Watson Wyatt, SEI and ABN Amro. Lam reports to Michelle Hilliman, head of multimanager (Asia Pacific) at HSBC Global Asset Management.
