In the article "Newman & Associates Taps Private CMBS" (MBSL 2/7/00), the company, Newman & Associates, is based in Denver, with offices around the country, including offices in Northfield, Ill. Also, while the company has had an ongoing dialogue with Portland, Ore.-based StanCorp Mortgage Investors LLC for several years, there are no specific plans for the two companies to team up in a future transaction.

In the article "Treasury Finally Issues Fasit Guidelines" (MBSL, 2/14/00), Nomura Asset Capital Corp. completed a commercial mortgage-backed deal in February 1998 utilizing the Fasit structure, along with Merrill Lynch & Co. and Morgan Stanley, Dean Witter, Discover & Co. Freddie Mac was not involved in that transaction.
