In the past, Barclays has already participated in other CMBS transactions by using its distribution capabilities for other issuers. Barclays was also one of the co-lead bookrunning managers for Cantor Fitzgerald's second CMBS issued in November last year.

The new filing is part of the bank's ongoing efforts to make inroads in the CMBS market. In October 2011, Barclays Capital expanded its CMBS team by appointing Jon Trauben as head of subordinate debt origination, Dan Vinson as head of CMBS structured finance and Michael Birajiclian as head of loan closing. All those hires report to Larry Kravetz, head of CMBS finance. Kravetz was hired in June 2011 along with Spencer Kagan, who joined the firm as a managing director and head of CMBS credit and underwriting reporting to Kravetz.
