Barclays Continues with CMBS Expansion

Barclays Capital has made several appointments to its U.S. CMBS team.

Jon Trauben joins the firm as a managing director and head of subordinate debt origination. He was previously a managing director and head of capital markets, high yield real estate and loan syndication at Cantor Fitzgerald. Before that, he spent eight years at Credit Suisse as managing director, head of high yield real estate and loan syndications for the Americas.

Dan Vinson joins the firm as  managing director and head of CMBS structured finance. He was previously a managing director and U.S. head of capital markets and transaction operations at Eurohypo since 2006. Before that, he spent approximately ten years at GE Real Estate as a managing director of commercial real estate capital markets.

Michael Birajiclian joins the firm as a director and head of loan closing. He was previously a senior asset manager at Greystone Bank. Birajiclian held similar roles in CMBS capital markets at Bank of America in the large loan and structured finance group and in the securitized finance groups at Nomura and Morgan Stanley.

Trauben, Vinson and Birajiclian will report to Larry Kravetz, who was recently appointed head of CMBS finance at Barclays. They will all be based in the firm's New York office.
