Banker hops to IFC from ING

Surat Maheshwari has hopped over to the International Finance Corporation in Washington D.C. from ING in New York, according to a source at the IFC. He is assuming the post of principal financial officer in the structured finance group, where he will report to Chief Structured Finance Officer Lee Meddin. Maheshwari leaves behind the post of director and head of private placements at ING, where he worked on originating, structuring and executing asset-backed, senior and mezzanine debt and private equity financing transactions in the US private placement market for global clients.

Prior to ING, he was vice president at Salomon Smith Barney. The IFC is the private sector financing arm of the World Bank and centers its activities in developing countries. In the realm of structured finance, the entity has recently built up a business providing partial guarantees to structured deals in domestic Latin American markets such as Mexico, Colombia and Chile.
