PEOPLE MOVES

J.P. Morgan has recently hired Dennis Knitowski into its asset-backed commercial paper group. Knitowski work as a senior transactor for Delaware Funding Corp., Morgan's flagship conduit. He will report directly to Rob Jones. Knitowski was formerly with Credit Suisse First Boston in their asset securitization group.

Glenn Goldman and Scott Mannis, the coheads of ContiFinancial's securitization effort, have left the company. Conti has hemorrhaged both cash and personnel after failing to recover from the affects of last year's liquidity crisis, a condition suffered most noticeably in the home-equity sector. Both Mannis and Goldman are rumored to be starting their own financial advisory business, though a source said any final decisions on where the two will end up were still "up in the air."

John Mullins has just started his new position as regional head of Asia for ING Barings. Mullins came from Daiwa Securities where he ran that company's fledging asset-backed group, a department described by a source as "pretty much dead." Mullins will report to Ken Cox, the global head of securitization for ING.

Victor Mahoney just started at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, originally from Deutsche Bank Securities asset-backed group. Mahoney will report to Jon Bottersdorf at Dresdner.

Arturo Cifuentes has arrived at MBIA to work for Lori Evangel in that company's CBO/CLO joint venture with Ambac Assurance Corp.
