Utility Provider Hires Securitization Vet

PPL Corp. has hired Mark Wilten as treasurer and vice president in finance. Wilten is currently treasurer for Nissan North America and Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. in Franklin, Tenn.

He will join PPL on  June 4, and will report to Paul Farr, PPL's executive vice president and chief financial officer.

James Abel, PPL's long-time treasurer, retired on April 1. Farr has been serving as treasurer on an interim basis since Abel's retirement.

Wilten has been with Nissan since 2008 and has been its treasurer since August 2010. Before Nissan, he was group treasurer for Kensington Group, a mortgage company based in London.

The new hire started his career at JPMorgan Chase in 1989 and held a variety of positions in New York, Toronto and London before moving to Deutsche Bank in 1997 as associate director of the European Securitization Group.

He also worked at WestLB, London, rising to the position of executive director of the principal finance and asset securitization group, and served as executive director of securitization at Rabobank International in London, before joining Kensington in 2004.

PPL Corporation, headquartered in Allentown, Pa., owns or controls about 19,000 megawatts of generating capacity in the United States, sells energy in key U.S. markets, and delivers electricity and natural gas to about 10 million customers in the U.S. and the U.K.
