UBS Banker Joins StanChart

Henrik Raber, formerly a European fixed-income banker at UBS, joined Standard Chartered as head of its U.S. and European capital markets business, according to published reports. He will join StanChart in August.

Raber, who was co-head of European credit flow sales and trading with Michael Schmidt at UBS, is said to be joining StanChart after a gardening leave.

The new hire reportedly worked at UBS for eight years and previously ran its syndicate business until moving to lead flow credit in 2006. He was a managing director on the European management committee at the time of his departure. Before joining UBS, Raber worked at Lehman Brothers for eight years.

According to published reports, Raber's departure is the latest senior staff who left from UBS’ European and U.S. fixed-income, currencies and commodities division this year.
