Simmons & Simmons Names Head of Middle East Finance

Simmons & Simmons has named Samer Eido as Middle East finance head, according to a report by legalweek.com.

Eido has been with Simmons since 2005 and specializes in general banking law, corporate lending, trade finance, real estate finance, debt restructuring and refinancing, and Islamic structured finance,  legalweek.com reported.

The move comes as partner Philip Abbott leaves the region to return to London, according to the report. Abbott held the position since relocating to Dubai in 2008 and specialized in real estate financings, structured finance, restructuring, and funds formation, according to the report.

"Our financial markets practice has made excellent progress under Philip's leadership in difficult market conditions and we are well-placed to advise our clients on their key issues going forwards,” said Jeremy Hoyland, head of financial markets at Simmons. "Samer is very well known in the region and I know will continue the development of our practice with key regional and international clients."
