Proskauer Hires Dewey & LeBoeuf Team

 

Proskauer Rose has hired a team of restructuring and insolvency attorneys from bankrupt law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf, the New York and London-based firm said.Partners Mark Fennessy and Hazel Miller have joined Proskauer from the troubled Dewey, which filed for bankruptcy protection in New York on Monday, May 28. Fennessy headed Dewey’s European restructuring practice

The two new London-based hires focus on corporate restructuring, special situations and insolvency litigation. They have worked in situations that involved financial restructuring mandates and have advised funds-based, structured products and leveraged financing transactions. They have served on advisors on such restructurings as MF Global, Lehman Brothers, Wind Hellas and General Motors as well as other commercial mortgage-backed securities restructurings.

Proskauer Partner Martin Bienenstock said in a statement that the additions will aid the firm in expanding its capabilities internationally.

Proskauer has offices in Beijing; Boca Raton, Fla.; Boston; Chicago; Hong Kong; London; Los Angeles; New Orleans; New York; Newark, N.J.; Paris; São Paulo, Brazil and Washington, DC.

Dewey & LeBoeuf filed for bankruptcy claiming $315 million in liabilities.
