PF2 Securities Evaluations increased its analytical tools for CDOs to prepare for changing Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) requirements.
As the FASB prepares to dramatically change the requirements for valuing securities with other-than-temporary impairments (OTTI), the valuations firm is implementing new security-level and portfolio-wide tools.
The three founders of PF2 are Moody's Investors Service alumnae who have insider knowledge of the way the rating agencies work and they're putting it to use. Its primary spokesman is Gene Phillips with his two partners Guillaume Fillebeen, an underwriting / structuring expert who was primarily responsible for CDO modeling at Moodys and Mark Froeba, who is the group's lawyer.
