Moody's Establishes New Quantitative Team

Moody’s Investors Service has established a new team within its structured finance group. The brand new unit will conduct quantitative analysis and empirical research across asset classes and geographic regions.

Navneet Agarwal, a Moody’s senior vice president who has been a team leader in Moody’s primary and surveillance ratings teams, will lead the structured products analytics and research team’s efforts in the Americas.

“The team was established to improve quality and consistency of our analytical efforts in support of structured finance ratings and research across asset classes,” Agarwal said.

There will be eight to 10 group members, all of which will be filled internally. There has been no team leader named as of yet to replace Argawal. Linda Stesney remains as managing director responsible for primary RMBS ratings.

Kruti Muni, a vice president senior credit officer at the firm, has relocated to be part of the U.S. RMBS primary ratings team. The transfer represents an additional resource for the group, Moody's officials said.

Muni was from the London office where she covered RMBS ratings across many European jurisdictions.
