Moelis Names CFO, Managing Directors

Moelis & Co. has named Joseph Simon as managing director and chief financial officer, the firm announced today. With over 25 years of experience, Simon will be responsible for all finance and accounting matters and will be based in the firm’s New York office.

The new hire was most recently CFO of Financial Security Assurance (FSA). As a member of the executive management committee, he led financing transactions for the firm and re-engineered its treasury and accounting practices.

Before joining FSA, Simon was CFO, global controller and global head of operations at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he managed a global accounting and operations team. He was previously a principal and vice president of fixed - income product control at Morgan Stanley after beginning his career at PriceWaterHouse as a certified public accountant.

"Joe is an accomplished finance and accounting executive with significant strategy and operations experience," said Ken Moelis,  chief  executive  officer of Moelis. "His entrepreneurial approach and commitment to teamwork are a natural fit with our business and culture.”

Vincent Lima has also joined the firm as a managing director, where he will be responsible for providing capital markets advisory solutions and managing transaction executions. Lima was previously managing director of capital markets at Christopher Steel Capital, where he was a founding partner of the firm’s U.S. credit business.

He was also a managing director and head of high yield syndicate at Salomon Brothers, where he worked for 17 years.
