MBA Nominates New Vice-Chair Elect

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has nominated Debra Still to be its vice chair-elect, the association announced today.

Still is president of Pulte Mortgage and currently serves as chair of MBA's residential board of governors. She will be elected at the 97th Annual MBA Convention to be held in October.

During her time as an MBA  member, Still has chaired the forward task force and has been a member of the strategic planning committee, loan origination task force, affordable housing committee, and secondary and capital markets committee.

She  joined Pulte Mortgage in 1983 as a vice president and branch manager for the company’s Maryland division. She later held the same position in Dallas/Ft. Worth. In 1997 ,  she was named executive vice president for production and became the corporate secretary of the Pulte Mortgage board of directors. She became chief operating officer in 1999 and CEO in 2004.

"Deb has been one of our industry's most forward looking leaders as the mortgage banking business has gone through this period of unprecedented change," said MBA Chairman Robert Story, Jr.  "As the Chair of RESBOG, she has been the leading voice behind a number of new MBA policies designed to deal with the new reality all our members face today.  She brings fresh ideas, a new perspective and a leader's mentality, exactly what the industry needs as we rebuild the single family, multifamily and commercial real estate markets."

Still’s nomination was announced this month at MBA’s annual President’s Conference.
