Martin Sharkey has joined the finance and derivatives practice at international law school Schulte Roth & Zabel as a partner.
Sharkey provides strategic counsel for CLO managers, investors and arrangers, advising CLO managers on transactions such as warehouse financings, collateral fund obligation transactions, CLO business acquisitions and portfolio sales, according to a statement from Schulte Roth & Zabel. Sharkey also advises CLO managers on multi-currency, arbitrage, balance sheet, market value and ESG CLOs, the firm said.
Sharkey, who started on March 23, will be based in the firm's London office. Before Schulte Roth & Zabel, Sharkey was a partner at Dentons, had was a pro bono advisor at the National Centre for Domestic Violence, and a solicitor at Clifford Chance, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“Martin’s longstanding CLO practice in London creates excellent synergies with our U.S. CLO practice, and he will provide a valuable cross-border perspective to our clients,” added Craig Stein, New York partner and co-head of the Finance & Derivatives Group.
Sharkey’s hire is the latest addition across strategic practice areas in both public and private markets.
