Knight Capital Group has hired a new sales and trading team as the firm continues to expand its optional institutional client capabilities with a listed derivatives group.
The half-dozen appointments, which primarily came from NewEdge USA and Pali Capital, include new managing directors and co-heads of strategic operations Adam Templeton and Ryan Sylvester.
Additionally, James Murphy, a strategic operations managing director and Brad Manuilow, Robert Mabry and Jeffrey Fittipaldi, all directors of the group, round out Knight Capital’s listed derivatives team, a Feb. 23 press release said.
Before their appointments to the Jersey City, N.J.-based firm, both Templeton and Sylvester served as co-heads of strategic options at NewEdge, and had stints as sales traders at Pali Capital. Manuilow, who will be based in San Francisco, also joins from NewEdge as a sales trader.
Additionally, Murphy, a former managing director, and Mabry and Jeffrey, previous sales traders, all worked at Pali Capital, the release said.
Jonathon Mairs, Knight Capital’s corporate communications vice president, confirmed today that the newly hired team has already started its duties at the firm.
“We are excited to offer this new business led by a highly experienced team to our diverse client base,” Greg Voetsch, Knight Capital Group executive vice president and head of global equities, the release said. “By leveraging our global footprint and extending beyond equities, we can provide additional value to our clients and help them best achieve their trading goals and objectives.”
Currently, the firm incorporates a “global, multi-asset class platform for institutional clients” by combining its international sales and trading teams with its electronic trading strategy.
It also utilizes an “equities, fixed-income, foreign exchange, futures and options” investment focus to better serve its clients, the statement said.
