Kimberly Boulmetis has joined Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) as managing director and head of U.S. financial institutions for the debt capital markets group.

Boulmetis, who will assume her new role later this month, will lead coverage of MUFG’s broad roster of financial institution clients, which includes banks, insurance companies, asset management firms, private equity sponsors and business development companies. She will also deliver the group’s complete capital markets capabilities to issuers of investment-grade debt.

She will report to Richard Testa, MUFG’s head of investment grade finance.

“She brings deep knowledge of markets, complex capital structures and intricate execution strategies – along with an entrepreneurial approach – that make her well-suited for MUFG’s practice and culture as we carry out high-profile mandates for our clients and continue to grow,” Testa said in a statement.

Before joining MUFG, Boulmetis was a managing director at BTIG, where she handled specialty finance within the firm’s investment banking division. With more than 25 years of industry experience, Boulmetis has covered the capital markets and financial institutions at a range of leading firms, including J.P. Morgan, Oppenheimer & Co., Bear Stearns and the former "Bank of New York."
