Jefferies Expands Asian Emerging Markets Sales Team

Jefferies has added two professionals to its fixed income emerging markets sales and trading efforts in Asia, the firm announced today.

Sandy Oh and Eng Keong Ong, based in Singapore, join Jefferies as senior vice presidents of sales and trading, respectively, of emerging markets debt to institutional investors in Asia.

Oh has more than 15 years of fixed income sales experience in Asia, including five years at the Singapore office of HSBC, where she was head of credit sales.

Eng Keong Ong joins Jefferies from DZ Bank AG, where he served as a credit trader for Asian bonds. He previously held a similar position at BNP Paribas.

"The expansion of our Emerging Markets team in Asia underscores the global nature and presence of Jefferies' fixed income business today," commented Tim Cronin, global head of fixed income at Jefferies. "We have significantly expanded our efforts during the past two years and now have nearly 500 fixed income professionals in the US, Europe and Asia, including more than 35 focused on emerging markets in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia."

"We are pleased to welcome Sandy and EK to Jefferies. Their product expertise and collective experience in Southeast Asia make them key additions to our group as we continue to build our global emerging markets fixed income business," added Charles Cortellesi and Erich Bauer-Rowe, global co-heads of the emerging markets group at Jefferies.

Jefferies is a global securities and investment banking firm.
