Hogan Lovells Adds Two Securitization Experts

Hogan Lovells has expanded its New York finance practice by adding Peter Humphreys and Evan Koster.

Humphreys' practice is focused on securitization such as financings of equipment and operating leases, credit card receivables, auto loans, energy receivables, healthcare receivables, intellectual property, and trade receivables. He also has extensive experience with structured capital deals for insurance firms and other public and private capital markets transactions. Before joining Hogan Lovells, he was a partner in the New York office of McDermott Will & Emery in the firm’s structured finance practice.

Koster has more than ten years of experience in the derivatives market and has been involved in the development of many new products. He recently focused his practice in energy and equity derivatives, and is has been more involved in Dodd-Frank compliance counseling and derivatives advocacy.

Within the energy sector, Koster has represented power, oil, and energy trading companies in oil, gas, and power derivatives transactions. He also has significant experience in derivatives and trading related to project finance, as well as experience in the renewable energy sector.
Fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, Koster has lived and worked throughout Latin America for 20 years. Recently he has been quite active in Brazil, where his work has included representing Brazilian financial institutions in securities, asset management, and derivative transactions. He also has represented funds and private equity investors in Brazilian transactions.

In addition to his previous experience as outside counsel, Koster has served as in-house counsel at Citibank and UBS Investment Bank. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, he was a partner with Dewey & LeBoeuf in the firm’s Derivatives and Structured Products and Latin American practices in New York
