Guy Carpenter Names Chief Operating Officer

Guy Carpenter & Co. has named Liz Flynn as chief operating officer, the firm announced today.

Flynn, who will be based in New York, will join Guy Carpenter’s executive committee and will report to Peter Zaffino, president and CEO.

She will be responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s global strategic operational initiatives and overseeing the information technology and client support services groups, as well as managing Reinsurance Solutions, a wholly-owned U.S. Guy Carpenter subsidiary.

Before joining Guy Carpenter, Flynn was senior vice president of the restructuring office at AIG. Previously, she served as the company’s corporate vice president of global transformation initiatives.

Before joining AIG, Flynn served in several executive roles at JPMorgan Chase, including executive vice president of merger integration and mission critical issues, where she led the firm’s efforts to merge JPMorgan Chase Bank and Bank One.

“Liz has more than 20 years of experience in operational leadership and critical, hands-on industry expertise,” Zaffino said. “I look forward to working with her closely as Guy Carpenter continues to increase its organizational effectiveness and extend our client delivery capabilities. This appointment demonstrates our ongoing ability to attract the leading professionals in the financial industry to Guy Carpenter.”
