Former Clayton Executive Starts Statebridge

Formerly of Clayton Fixed Income Services, Kevin Kanouff has started a new Denver-based company called Statebridge.

Kanouff in a note said that he has been "assembling a team, building infrastructure, and getting licensed for the business of special servicing mortgages." He said that although his firm has "purposefully not been marketing the company during our startup/licensing period," it has been getting a lot of inquiries from people in the industry.

According to Kanouff, most of the conversations the company has had thus far have been around investors looking  for a more hands-on servicing partner or to buy or partner with a servicer. Buysiders have also looked for assistance in evaluating their pool trades.

The firm's new Web site is www.statebridgecompany.com.

Mid last year, Kanouff  resigned from his position as president of Clayton Fixed Income Services, which is the Denver-based subsidiary of data analysis provider Clayton Holdings. Kanouff served as the president of Clayton Fixed Income Services since 2003. He was responsible for the management of the division's operations and the development of its strategic direction.

Before joining Clayton Fixed Income Services, Kanouff was an attorney practicing corporate and securities law with Dorsey & Whitney, an international law firm.
