Fannie Mae has selected Susan McFarland to serve as the firm’s next executive vice president  and chief financial officer. The appointment will be effective as of July 11.

McFarland previously held the position of EVP and finance and principal accounting officer at Capital One Financial Corp.

Fannie Mae's press release on the new hire stated that McFarland will report directly to president and CEO Michael Williams.

She will succeed interim CFO David Hisey, who took over the position in November after former CFO David Johnson resigned. The company said that Hisey will remain with the GSE as its principal accounting officer.
