European Risk Capital Hires David Cain

European Risk Capital hired David Cain as the group executive advisor. In his new position, his primary responsibility is for non-bank financials and real estate.

The new hire's expertise extends to structured capital advisory and fundraising activities, including debt restructuring and acquisitions in consumer finance, commercial finance, corporate finance and overall property sectors.

Cain, who was formerly an executive director with the Rothschild Group, founded its structured finance advisory business. He also developed Rothschild's European securitization activity in line the firm's core focus of corporate finance and debt advisory. This encompassed design and implementation of a number of strategic initiatives in structured capital markets, leading to a Board level appointment by 2003.

Following an extensive City career, Cain became principal of a number of independent advisory firms. Cain’s track record is spread across a wide range of asset classes, from credit cards and residential mortgages to auto leasing and life settlements. He has structured and led a multitude of complex deals, including arrangement of a £400 million ($607.9 million) U.K. credit card portfolio acquisition, debt raising of a €200 million ($275.03 million) structured facility for a Netherlands based mortgage lender, and arrangement of a £100 million funding line for a leading independent auto lender.

“The breadth and depth of David’s skill base are the result of over two decades of experience in structured finance across the U.K. and Europe; this represents a significant enhancement of the group’s capabilities in a sector which is pivotal both to our service offering as well as the overall market,” said Tony Gioulis, managing partner at European Risk Capital.
