Dechert Announces New Partner Hire

Dechert has named James Waddington a partner in the firm’s London office.

Waddington advises commercial and investment banks, as well as private equity and hedge fund clients, on derivative transactions, CDS, lending and borrowing arrangements, debt and equity offerings, insolvency and restructuring matters, and fund formation and investments.

The new hire was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe prior to joining Dechert.  Fluent in both English and French, Waddington has practiced law in Paris, London, and New York since 1985 and previously worked as an investment banker at Bankers Trust Co. (now Deutsche Bank).

“I’m delighted to welcome such a talented lawyer as Jim to the firm,” said Dechert chairman Barton Winokur.
