CREFC Europe Names Chair-Elect

CRE Finance Council Europe (CREFC Europe) has appointed Peter Denton as chair-elect of the group.

Denton will begin his term today and his two-year term as chairman begins in November 2013.

Denton is head of U.K. real estate at BNP Paribas, where his role is to develop the firm's real estate coverage for U.K.-domiciled clients.

He has over 17 years' relevant real estate sector experience as he previously run WestImmo’s London office as branch head.

Here he managed the trade group's London-based real estate finance activities. Before that, he held similar senior roles for EMEA real estate banking at Barclays Capital, Eurohypo and Deutsche Bank.

Denton will follow Christian Janssen, managing director and head of CRE debt capital markets in Europe for Jefferies International. Janssen was chairman of CREFC Europe in November 2011 and is serving a two-year term.

The CRE Finance Council chairman's official appointment will happen during the group’s autumn conference, which willl take place on November 14 and 15 in London.

The group's autumn conference 2012 will also mark the appointments of the organization's new directors for its board.

As CREFC Europe continues to expand into the wider CRE marketplace, Peter’s leadership will be instrumental in charting our course.”

“I am excited to work alongside Christian, the other directors and the wider Board of Advisors," Denton stated. "The European real estate debt market is in a period of significant change and CREFC Europe has a position and opportunity to greatly contribute to this evolution.”
