Brean Capital LLC has hired Scott Buchta as head of fixed-income strategy. Buchta brings to the firm his expertise in cross-sector relative value trade analysis and developing portfolio strategies for institutional investors, a release from Bean Capital said.
Buchta, who will be based out of the firm's Chicago office, will report to Rob Fine, the company's chief executive officer, and Robert Tirschwell.
Before Brean Capital, Buchta was most recently with Sandler O’Neill as managing director and head of fixed-income investment strategy. He spent almost twenty years with Bear Stearns where he ultimately became a senior managing director and the head of the mortgage products group.
"We are delighted to add a person of Scott's caliber to our fixed-income team," Fine said. "His years of experience and dedication to building a client-based business will play an integral role in our continued expansion into the fixed income markets. The breadth and depth of Scott's knowledge will be a natural complement to our existing sales and trading efforts."
"I am excited about having the opportunity to join up with such a professional group of seasoned veterans and look forward to taking part in Brean’s growth going forward," Buchta said.
