Independent broker dealer Braver Stern Securities hired George Kenny as a managing director and head of institutional fixed income sales. Kenny, who brings 25 years of experience in the fixed income sector, will be responsible for expanding the firm’s institutional sales force.
Kenny was most recently the head of Americas rates sales at Bank of America. From 2001-2008, he was the head of Americas mortgage sales at Merrill Lynch, which joined in 1992.
“George is an excellent addition to our firm and his hiring underscores our commitment to become one of the leading fixed income broker-dealers in the industry," Joseph Valentine, managing partner of institutional fixed income trading at Braver Stern, said. "His in-depth knowledge of the marketplace will benefit us greatly as we expand our platform both geographically and into additional product lines.”
“I am looking forward to working with the highly talented team at Braver Stern,” Kenny said. “With its impressive mortgage operation, the firm has quickly made its mark in the industry and I believe it is well positioned to expand its footprint.”
