BNP Paribas hired Christian Wulf as director in charge of Latin America for the firm's aviation finance group.
Wulf is based in New York and reports to Olivier Trauchessec, head of aviation finance, Americas.
Wulf has more than 15 years of experience in the Latin American region. He joined BNP from the aviation finance group of KfW in Frankfurt where he was in charge of the bank's aviation finance activities in North America.
Before KfW, Wulf held a position with WestLB's New York branch, where he was responsible for the bank's transportation finance activities in the Americas. Prior to this position, he worked for DVB Bank in New York and Frankfurt and for HSH Nordbank in Hamburg, Germany.
"Chris brings a very strong combination of industry knowledge, product specialization and structuring capabilities," Trauchessec said. "He also knows very well the region, the clients and the specificities of the Latam market which he has covered under various positions."
Chris replaces Bertrand Dehouck, also director in the aviation finance group, who joined the group in 2004.
Dehouck will be heading up the bank's efforts toward the operating lessors as he will be in charge of the relationship with all the aircraft leasing companies in the Americas.
