Two Issuers Price $616M of Esoteric ABS

American Railcar Leasing and Container Leasing International priced $616 million of securities backed by esoteric assets, according to an Interactive Data report.

American Railcar Leasing’s $325.3 million deal is backed by 5,865 railroad cars. The single-A rated class A1 notes, due June 2017 priced at swaps plus 120 basis points. The single-A rated, class A2 notes, due June 2021, priced at swaps plus 130 basis points.

The issuer was last in the market in 2012, with a $215 million transactions. The class A1 notes issued under AMRL 2012-1 priced at American Railcar Leasing 2012-1. 

Container Leasing International priced $291.4 million of securities backed by a portfolio of marine cargo containers.

The series 2014-1 transaction priced the ‘AAA’ rated class A notes, due June 18, 2039, at a spread of swaps plus 150 basis points.

The deal's structure includes a $25 million prefunding account at closing, which will be available to fund the purchase of approximately $29 million in new containers.

Wells Fargo Securities and Deutsche Bank are the placement agents on the deal. Wells Fargo is also the structuring agent.
