Transition Plan Set for Bond Group at Aberdeen

Aberdeen Asset Management will shift the responsibilities of Senior Portfolio Manager Dan Taylor to existing team members, Investment Management Weekly has learned.

Taylor serves as sector head for ABS/CMBS and product head for core short duration bonds at Aberdeen. He will leave the firm effective June 30, 2010 as part of a "lifestyle change."

According to a document obtained by IMW, Neil Moriarty will take over responsibilities for the structured finance products, which will include, ABS, CMBS and RMBS. He is currently a senior portfolio manager at the firm.

Jon Prestley, sector manager and senior research analyst, will be responsible for non-agency residential MBS and ABS. Stefan Martin, also a sector manager and senior research analyst at the firm, will cover CMBS. The duo will report to Moriarty.

Moriarty and Mike Degernes, portfolio manager and senior research analyst at Aberdeen, will co-head the core short duration bond product, the document noted. The team is based in the firm's Philadelphia office.

Katie Cowley, spokeswoman for Aberdeen, confirmed the changes.

"We will look to replace Taylor with a senior hire," she said via e-mail.
