SNR Denton Boosts Regulatory Practice

SNR Denton boosted its financial institutions regulatory practice by hiring Lisa Ledbetter, former vice president and deputy general counsel for Freddie Mac, as a partner in its Washington DC office.

Ledbetter has 25 years of corporate, government and association experience. Before her position at Freddie Mac, Ledbetter had several senior positions at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. She was also part of the banking and finance team at the Department of the Treasury. She also held positions at the American Bankers Association and with the Independent Community Bankers of America.

At Freddie Mac, Ledbetter advised senior officers and business clients on the legal and strategic implications of various complex business, regulatory and legislative initiatives that affected the GSE, its financial institution customers and other constituents. She advised on both bank safety and soundness and consumer financial services laws, including the Dodd-Frank Act.

“She has extensive expertise with the regulatory initiatives emanating from the Dodd-Frank Act, the Housing and Economic Recovery Act and other major banking and financial institutions laws, plus her experience has given her a wealth of contacts in various financial institution regulatory agencies and on Capitol Hill,” said Robert Bostrom co-head of SNR Denton’s global financial institutions and funds sector and former Freddie Mac general counsel said.
