SLCG Adds Subprime Expert As Principal

Securities Litigation and Consulting Group (SLCG) hired Joseph Prendergast as principal in its Virginia office.

Prendergast's received a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Michigan Business School at Ann Arbor and his research interests are: the pricing and risk management of fixed-income securities and derivatives, applied econometrics, empirical investments and interest rate modeling.

"I am very pleased to welcome Joe to our team and am especially excited about the expertise in subprime mortgage backed securities and CDOs that he brings to our firm," said Craig McCann, founder of SLCG.

Before SLCG, Prendergast was principal and director of mortgage research at Smith Breeden Associates in Durham, North Carolina where he a member of the investment management group for 11 years.

He has worked extensively with mortgage-related investments, including agency and subprime MBS, and cash and synthetic CDOs. Prendergast has published several articles in the Journal of Fixed Income and a book chapter on mortgage options.
