Former British Prime Minister Theresa May is scheduled to deliver a keynote address Monday for the Structured Finance Association’s ABS show in Las Vegas.
Her engagement is the highlight of a deep dive into politics for the second day of the four-day industry event. The trade show’s main conference room will be host to May’s appearance as well as an industry panel looking at the 2020 elections (“What to expect, and what they mean”).
Another discussion panel later Monday morning will address the polarized state of the nation’s politics (“Just how bad is it and where do we go from here”) featuring former Democratic National Committee interim chair Donna Brazille and GOP strategist Ana Navarro.
U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Arizona, spoke to a gathering of attendees on Sunday.
According to the SFA's updated conference agenda on Sunday, May will make her scheduled hourlong appearance at 10:30 a.m. (Pacific) in a discussion moderated by Mitsubishi UFJ executive Tricia Hazelwood, the international head for MUFG’s securitized products.
May is a member of Parliament of the U.K., and served as prime minister from 2016 until 2019, resigning in July after several unsuccessful attempts to deliver her Brexit plan through Parliament.
