Continuing its recent spate of high-level hires, RBC Capital Markets said Tuesday it has brought on John Case, the former co-head of Americas real estate investment banking at UBS, as a managing director to co-lead the mid-market banks U.S. real estate banking group.
Over the course of his career, Case has completed more than 200 lead or sole-managed securities deals, raising more than $50 billion in new capital. He has also had a hand in more than 20 M&A and advisory assignments valued at more than $35 billion.
Case, who will be based in New York, will be charged with expanding RBCs U.S. real estate business, working with co-head Kevin Stahl. He will report to Peter de Vos, the head of U.S. global investment banking (GIB) at RBC, and will join the firms U.S. GIB management committee.
Before joining UBS in 2006, Case was a managing director at Bank of America Securities, where he led the real estate investment banking team. Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Merrill Lynch in the firms real estate banking group.
Johns breadth and depth of experience, client relationships, and previous leadership roles in the real estate sector will be of great benefit to the growth of our U.S. real estate investment banking business, de Vos said. In tandem with other recent senior hires weve made, this appointment marks another important step as we continue to grow our U.S. investment banking and capital markets platform.
