O’Brien Leads Colony American Homes Lending Unit

Colony American Homes hired Beth O’Brien to lead its single-family lending unit, Colony American Finance, according to a company press release.

O’Brien most recently served as executive vice president and managing director of Auction.com, where she ran residential capital markets and led pooled loan sales, financings and originations across the single family and multi-family sectors. Previously, she worked at Citigroup Global Markets and Goldman Sachs.

O’Brien’s “experience, track record and accomplishments will be a critical addition” as the company continues its growth in the single family homes rental industry, said Justin Chang, CEO of Colony American Homes, stated in the press release. “The lending opportunity is a massive one, and is a perfect strategic fit for Colony American Homes, while leveraging the scale infrastructure and platform we have built.”

Colony American Homes owns and manages over 15,000 homes for rent in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, and Texas.  Last week it began marketing its first securitization, a $513 million transaction backed by 3,399 single-family residential properties.
