The head of Nomura’s leveraged finance group in Europe has left to start a new debt advisory firm, and has taken a few other bankers with him, according to the Financial News.

Michael Berry, who spent the last three years at Nomura, will head Versatus Advisers. He will be joined by Jacco Brouwer, who, according to Financial News, was head of ABN Amro’s leveraged finance team in London. Brouwer, in his new digs, will be a managing director.

The names of the bankers who left Nomura with Berry could not be determined, nor could their replacements. It also couldn’t be determined whether Brouwer was replaced.

Calls to both firms were not immediately returned.
