New addition to UCC IP strategy arm

The first national correspondent for UCC Capital Corp. in the life sciences sector was announced last week as the firm moves into expansion mode, a rollout that also included the launch of a new Patent Royalty Trust, aimed at academia.

Robert D'Loren, UCC Capital's CEO, explained in an interview with ASR that his firm has five national correspondents and will add five additional regional correspondents, roles charged with fettering out opportunities across the U.S. for intellectual property monetizations and securitizations.

"Our correspondents have local representation and have relationships in their markets," said D'Loren. Correspondents secure the rights to sell UCC products in their individual regions.

As the first life science correspondent named, Pittsburgh-based Technology Option Capital LLC (TOC) will pursue opportunities within the advanced technology business. TOC is an intellectual property monetization organization headed by Nir Kossovsky, an M.D. and founder of the company.
