Market reports have indicated that the launch of a U.K. structured product association could be ready by yearend.
The association will aim to act as a single voice for the structured product industry. It will seek to make membership as inclusive as possible, including insurance companies and other sub-groups so that the new group will gain sufficient influence.
The association would not only represent the providers of the products. but their end users as well.
However, market sources said that published reports stating that the association will be established by yearend seemed rather premature. It's more likely, they said, that the association will be in place sometime next year.
