Monroe Credit Advisors, an affiliate of middle market lender Monroe Capital, said it added Jeff Knopping as a managing director and partner to open its New York office.
Knopping was most recently a managing director with William Blair & Co., where he worked in its private capital and special situation groups. He is also a 13-year veteran of GE Capital, where he cofounded the debt capital markets business and led capital markets for GE Commercial Finance. He also served as chief investment officer for GE’s global sponsor finance practice. Knopping also served in Citigroup’s loan syndication business.
Monroe Capital President and CEO Ted Koenig said in a statement that the firm has been happy with the growth of the credit advisory business and that it will benefit from Knopping’s experience. Knopping has raised more than $50 billion through more than 200 transactions and has advised both creditors and debtors in restructurings and bankruptcies.
Monroe Credit Advisors advises on structuring and arranging credit through relationships with banks, commercial finance companies, debt investment funds and leasing companies.
