MF Global Ltd. has hired James F. O'Sullivan as chief economist.
O'Sullivan will be responsible for analyzing and forecasting economic trends, as well as integrating broad macro analysis with specific economic indicators, and researching and monitoring economic and public policy developments that affect global economic activity. He will work closely with all of the firm's product lines and will provide research to the company's clients.
Prior to joining MF Global, O'Sullivan was a senior U.S. economist at UBS AG. He began his career at J.P. Morgan, where he spent 15 years as a U.S. economist. In each of the past five years, he has been ranked as one of the top three analysts in the economics category of the annual Institutional Investor survey of U.S. fixed-income investors, including first-place rankings in 2005, 2007 and 2008.
