Mendez, Eaton Join Magnetar Capital

Magnetar Capital LLC confirmed today that it has hired Carlos Mendez and Josh Eaton, both previously at Sandler O'Neill & Partners' structured finance group, to its fixed income group.

Mendez and Eaton will work on sourcing, structuring and evaluating asset-based investment opportunities, a company spokesperson told ASR.  Their primary focus is illiquid credit and special situations investments, including risk transfer solutions driven by evolving regulatory capital rules and regulations governing financial institutions.

Previously, Mendez was head of the structured finance group at Sandler O'Neill & Partners, L.P.  Mendez left investment banking firm in mid-February.  Eaton was a managing director in the structured finance group at Sandler O'Neill where he worked closely with Mendez.

Both are based in New York.
