HomeUnion, an online, real-estate investment management firm specializing in single-family rental properties, named Vivek Pendharkar as chief development officer.
In this new position, Pendharkar will lead HomeUnion’s data science, product management and software development efforts to to make investing in single-family rentals simpler, transparent and efficient.
Pendharkar brings more than 20 years of management expertise to HomeUnion having worked at both Fortune 500 companies and venture-backed startups. Most recently, he served as an entrepeneur in residence at Artiman Ventures, a Venture Capital firm that is also an investor in HomeUnion.
Prior to that, Pendharkar spent six years as president and CEO of VuCast Media. He also held leadership positions at Cypress Semiconductor, Intel and Hewlett Packard. In his new role he will report to Don Ganguly, CEO of HomeUnion.
“Vivek’s success with startup companies and record of leadership with large corporations is the type of balanced experience that we will use to help us scale up our platform while continuing to improve our customer experience,” Ganguly said in a press releae. “He will provide a seasoned voice as we expand our footprint in real estate markets across the country and continue to develop our real estate investment platform.”
Pendharkar is a graduate of BITS Pilani, India and holds advanced degrees from Virginia Tech and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
