Guggenheim Capital Expands Aviation Sales, Trading and Investment Banking

Guggenheim Capital Markets (GCM), a subsidiary of Guggenheim Partners, hired James
Palen
as a managing director.

Palen will help grow and expand the scope of GCM’s aviation capital markets capabilities in sales, trading and investment banking as well as assist in developing other areas of the transportation sector. He will be based in the firm’s New York office.

Palen brings extensive experience in the secured asset financing area, specializing in the structuring, restructuring and trading of airline, railroad and leasing company debt securities.

Before joining GCM, Palen was a director at Credit Suisse, where he was responsible for the execution of secured capital market transactions for the firm’s transportation clients.

“We continue to bolster our sales and trading capabilities with strategic hires across a number of sectors,” said Ron Iervolino, head of GCM’s sales and trading. “Jim is a strong addition to our aviation team and will help us expand into other areas of the transportation sector. He will join Evan Wallach and Nolan Heske in providing first-class service to GCM’s transportation clients. We are very excited to welcome Jim to the team.”
