Guardian Investment Banking and Real Estate today said that Hernan Magarinos joins the New York office as managing director.
Magarinos bring over 15 years of financial advisory and transactional experience to his new position. He has assisted clients on the sale and acquisition of dozens of bank loan portfolios with an aggregate value totaling more than $20 billion. He has also assisted clients in dispositions of commercial and residential mortgages, C&I loans, structured notes, unsecured loans and OREO portfolios.
He was previously a director of KPMG Corporate Finance LLC, where he specialized in strategy assistance, asset analysis, buyer and vendor due diligence, portfolio valuation, and other sales related services, including data room management, closing negotiations and investors' contact. He was also responsible for leading all distressed and non-core loan portfolio advisory efforts in the Americas, and successfully assisted some of the largest institutions in the industry with their distressed and performing loan dispositions.
Prior to his position at KPMG, Magarinos was the Americas leader of PwC's distressed debt group. He also worked as a senior consultant at Cargill Inc, assisting the company with M&A deals around the globe.
